Today in one of my bead clubs we talked about what we are thankful for and making a list.

So I made a list and ask you to share your list and rejoice in prayer and thanksgiving for your list being in your life.

10 things I and thankful for.

1) My wonderful husband. A man that took a sad woman and taught her to laugh again. That there was nothing wrong with me. and sees the beauty that I have inside.

2) I am thankful that our car pasted inspection and cost only 35.00 to pass the inspection this time! last time it was 600.00! WOOOOHOOOOOO

3) I am thankful for my family. Mom, Dad and Stepmom, 3 brothers, a sister, a daughter and tons of nephews and nieces. They are always there for me at a drop of a hat. Willing to do whatever. Even though we live hours apart. They are always on my side.

4) Thankful for my mother in law. She has given us a place to live in nature and doesn't ask for a lot in return.

5) Thankful for my talents, My creative spirit is what allows me to grow and feel free. Without my creativity I would be lost.

6) Love ... I am thankful for the Universe that has given me a heart to love unconditionally and to be able to receive love in my life.

7) Being dirt poor... lol I know this sounds funny but because of being poor I can rejoice in what is given to me and thankful for what I earn.

Music ... the music I make and the music that others share in all the wonderful mediums out there. I am never all a lost to finding music that expresses the emotions that I am feeling.

9) Spiritual side of me... I am thankful to all the holy beings that have been with me all my life. The care that they have given me and the lessons that they have helped me to learn.

10) The internet... I am thankful the the internet and my puter which has opened a whole new way of life and growth for me.

 

I don't think the one about being poor is silly....I tell my husband all the time how, though it makes it tougher in some ways to not have allot of money, I am so glad I am not one of those rich people who has had everything given and can't truely appreciate things as they come to them....I am not saying all rich people are this way as I know some very grounded well to do folks,I'm just saying I have learned to appreciate some of the finer things in life as I callem...such as walks in nature, the laughter of children, funny things lil baby animals do, and the patterns in a sea shell....most rich folks are way too buisy with the career and house payments to "stop and smell the roses" Anyways...love your list sounds like you have a great support system.

The ramp into our “acre of diamonds” is now firm underfoot where before it was a sea of mud. Murphy our dog runs excitedly by my side. We are on our way to release the chickens from the coop. They are to be fed porridge oats in milk.

Murphy has become an honorary chicken. He has been self-appointed. He now eats with the hens and cockerels as I give them their long awaited breakfast. They are now together, dog and birds, loving this life that is secure and satisfying for them.

I am becoming clearer. I am becoming more integrated and more know of the flow of this life. I am become a soul friend. I am becoming what is known in the Celtic tradition an Anam Cara. This translates as Anam meaning “soul” and Cara meaning “friend.”

Like our beautiful dog Murphy I am busy rounding up different aspects of my less integrated self. These are pieces that are like different chickens within a roost. I gently bring them together in love and acceptance. I imagine myself sitting atop a chicken coop with my chicken friends and we would debate various life questions.

We might ask “What does it mean to be a seeker after soul.” We would squawk about our inner life. We would peck at the question “is the unexamined life worth living?” We would joke about what happened when the chicken crossed the road. More seriously we would scratch in the earth to query that existential question, “What came first - the chicken or the egg?”

One of our favourite hens (and I have to acknowledge I do have favourites) is Boddica. She is fearless. She would be the hen to ask fierce questions. She is the hen equivalent of a soul friend. She probes your knowing and understanding of who you really are. She might ask, “What does an Anam Cara do?

In answer to Bodica`s question I would humbly reply thus.
